Paired decrease in 1×1 rib (prd)

The Paired decrease in 1×1 rib (prd) is a reversible double decrease, worked over four stitches (resulting in 2 stitches). Always begin the decrease on a knit stitch. First the stitches are rearranged on the needles so that the two knits and the two purls sit next to each other, before knitting them together. This results in the columns of knits and purls meeting neatly on both the front and the back of the knitting, with no gaps or holes visible.
